Item overhaul won't be happening this year, most likely.
In a recent interview with Travis Day, he revealed that itemization won't be overhauled before Blizzcon in early November and with console versions and expansion taking up so much time, it probably won't be this year either.
You know what? 6 months ago I was predicting that they would release PVP with the expansion. At the time I thought that was unlikely to happen, but there was a chance of it doing just that. Now, I can't see how they could release PVP before the expansion.
They have only mentioned item overhaul and console versions these last few weeks, with no mention of PVP, so their main focus is shipping that. They maybe have a couple of devs on wireframing PVP, but it's nowhere close to release. So with item overhaul getting launched start of 2014 and expansion supposedly also being out in 2014, it would make no sense for Blizzard to release PVP for free, only to release the expansion 4-6 months later.
They need all the features they can get in a probably anemic expansion.
Yeah, so free PVP......I hope you enjoyed dueling, because that is all the PVP you are going to get for free.
Christ, this game is fucking over the fanbase deeper and deeper by the minute.
