Elemental damage armor in Diablo 3

Continuing on with the elemental damage gear from my earlier post about elemental damage legendary weapons, this time we take a look at what armor pieces can be used to buff your character’s unseen DPS.

One thing is having a high DPS on your character sheet, another is what kind of DPS you are actually doing. Anyone can take a piece of gear and see whether their DPS gets higher or lower. If they are smart, they also look at how their defensive stats are affected, and if they are really smart, they look at their skills and playstyle before deciding on an upgrade. But then there is the unseen DPS, that isn’t mentioned anywhere. That’s what elemental damage is all about.

Which monster power level to farm? | Speed is king

With the new monster power settings in patch 1.0.5, and the Keywardens of D3, and the ability to farm Hellfire Rings, the game difficulty has once again changed. Pretty much since launch, it has become easier to farm Inferno and that didn’t really change with patch 1.0.5. However, seeing as pre-1.0.5 Inferno is about as difficult as current MP3-4 Inferno, are you better off running a lower monster power setting or a higher if you are after maximum farming per hour?

Highest DPS in North America

At this point in time, Diablo 3 has been soundly beaten by most of the players to various degrees. At this point in time, how players play the game is more of a question of what they want to do, and not so much a question of “are they even able to beat Diablo on Inferno”. Well, to be honest, being able to beat Diablo hasn’t been that much of an issue since he was beaten 1-2 weeks after launch.

However, now it is more a question of making the numbers bigger and doing stupid shit. Like this video showcasing a ridiculous amount of DPS against Azmodan.

Post 1.0.5 act 2 farming in Diablo 3

Patch 1.0.5 recently hit. That is no secret. While it did shake up the meta-game with monster power settings and bonus items, Keywardens, and of course the new crafted Hellfire Ring, it didn’t really change a whole of in-game things like the maps. There was a minor change in act 1, with the Watch Tower being moved to Southern Highlands, which has changed the 1.0.5 act 1 farming route a bit, but when we look at the other acts, not much has changed.

So where and what ot farm is a matter of preference now, with enabling monster power settings making all mobs level 63 across all the acts. So the act 2 farming run is still making heavy use of a classic, but that doesn’t make it any less awesome!

Elemental damage legendary weapons | unsung heroes of D3

Diablo 3 is a very gear centric game. That is no secret. All of the focus on gear, is for one reason alone: more DPS. There are numerous ways to increase your damage: attackspeed increase, crit chance, crit damage, main stat increase….and then there is also increase to elemental damage.

IAS, crit%, crit dam and more main stat is pretty straightforward: you buy an upgrade, put it on and you DPS “score” increases. This is plainly visible on your character sheet. However, increases to elemental damage aren’t displayed directly on your character sheet, which means that they aren’t as popular as the “normal” options, which then again also means, that they are cheaper!

1.0.5 act 1 monster power farming | Fast and loads of elites!

{EAV:ac25ba0fddbe25ca} <—–ignore me ;)

Patch 1.0.5 has dropped. If you aren’t completely up to speed with what this has done to the game, go read about monster power and bonus items, craft your own Hellfire Ring, and where to find the Keywardens.

Not a lot has changed with regards to farming. The old routes to act 1 farming, act 2 farming and act 3 farming are still good…but there are some minor map changes in the patch and small tweaks you can do to your farming runs, to make them a little better.

Diablo 3 wizard lightning build | Frying stuff for fun and profit

Continuing the tradition of off the map wizard builds, these last few days I have had a lot of fun with this new build. I have focused on legendaries before, when patch 1.0.4 was announced and had its patch notes released. In 1.0.4 we saw a lot of legendary items be improved and they introduced legendaries, that you might actually want to be building your character around…so that is what I did!

Well, kinda what I did. I got a great deal on a decent legendary two-hander, and have been running around with it these last few days, and I have been having a lot of fun with it!

D3 patch 1.0.5 is out | legendaries drop like candy

The new patch is out, in case you didn’t know. From the massive surge of visitors to the site and on the Diablo 3 farming FB group, I think it is safe to assume that a lot of people have decided to pick up Diablo 3 again…at least for a short while. But that is the beauty of a game being free to play. I was almost going to say: “That’s the beauty of a multiplayer game being free.”, but with the changes in patch 1.0.5, Blizzard have effectively killed multiplayer and the social aspect of Diablo 3

Patch 1.0.5 releases this tuesday? | Scheduled downtime says so

This coming tuesday a shceduled downtime of roughly 8 hours has been planned.

With the recent minor bugfixes to the patchnotes for 1.0.5, this could very well indicate that we will see patch 1.0.5 hit this upcoming tuesday.

As mentioned on this site, the most exciting parts of this patch is the Infernal Machine and the Keywardens (that sounds like a band), which allows you to craft the Hellfire ring. This ties in closely with the new monster power setting, which was recently explained in more detail on the official blog.
