Currently the most efficient way to farm to in Diablo 3
This has to be the most efficient way to level in D3 I have seen so far. You don’t make as much per hour, as with hard core goldfarming in the best places to farm gold, but for the effort you put in to it, you can’t beat this strategy for easy, fast goldfarming.
Use thorns and HPS items for easy D3 farming
In Act 2 there are defensive structures that spawn mobs at intervals. These mobs don’t give you XP, but they do give you gold, gear and potions.
You will need some sort of way of dealing damage passively to mobs, and you will need some sort of way to self heal passively. You can easily get this equipment cheaply on the AH. Then you just need to avoid going AFK and logging out of the game. This can either be you tapping a key once in a while and watching Netflix while ALT+tabbed out or you can use a mouse clicker macro program or a macro keyboard
Then you just need to sort through your drops and either vendor them or AH them. Check out my guide to the D3 AH and make sure you pay special attention to reduced level weapons, that will make you huge stacks of gold in the AH.
*update* Apparently this has been patched, so the mobs don’t drop loot or gold anymore. Thanks to all who have confirmed this.
Isn’t there a level with four skeleton generators somewhere? I would think that would be faster for farming.
There is in act 1, but the mobs don’t drop loot. But since the defender towers in the video are random, you could actually get 4 next to each other.
hey what is a macro that I could use to prevent from being afk and being away from the keyboard?

just google for click macro or similar terms, u will find plenty of free tools. It is more convenient if you have a programmable keyboard like the roccat valo

then you just can write your own macro and exec it in the loop or record a macros even in game.
Wow this is really cool. I wonder how long it will fly. Blizzard is bound to nerf it if they find out about it. I know that you can’t kite elites around forever, for example. Once a certain time passes, you get a debuff which deals damage over time. I know because I managed to get some tough elites stuck behind some environment and just let me scoundrel ping away at them while I went AFK.
That would be the enrage timer that kicks in after 5 minutes. IF you get that, you are more or less dead
Is this possible on Inferno? I keep getting owned. I have 10k hp, 7k armor, 9k dmg return.
At your level, I would stick to either doing this on Hell or doing Warden/Butcher runs on Inferno act 1.
dude you need way more hp for inferno. WAY more.
I found a mouse macro program called “Free Mouse Auto Clicker” and it works with the server not kicking me off after 15-20 minutes. Just one question, will I get banned for using any such program? I mean sure, I won’t get banned for a couple of months or whatever, but i’m still worried though. In Blizzard’s EULA it says this at this link http://us.blizzard.com/en-us/company/legal/d3_eula.html:

I’m farming this on Hell and I’ve already made over 200k using this method.
Well, the program replicates keystrokes and doesn’t inject anything, so I don’t think Blizzard can detect it with Warden.
Technically it is against the EULA, since you are modifying the game experience, but Blizzard won’t do anything against this scale.
Once you start messing with “legit” bots, that run scripts and inject commands…..you seriously run the risk of getting banned at some point. I have done some research on the D3 bot scene for an upcoming article, and there are D3 bots that work, and work well, but they aren’t cloaked against Warden, so only run those on an account you are willing to lose.
Doesnt it also say in the agreement that in addition to not playing with bots you also will not play the game in any unattended manner? I thought i remembered reading that. If that is true, they could still ban your account and especially because there will be a real money auction house, you could end up with a fraud charge against you for violating a contract and profiting off it…
what quest / dungeon did you enter in your vid?
It’s a random dungeon in act 2. I think all of the caves of that kind, have those towers in them.
After 5 mins farming in that spot. I started to get debuff from the tower. Have they nerfed it ?
I wouldn’t be surprised! But I haven’t heard that it should have been nerfed. If you are doing it on Inferno, it could be the enrage timer kicking in. Then you need to do it on Hell instead.
This works fine and i’ve made about a million in ten-ish hours
While it’s perfectly possible to use a program to cast spells (mantra in my example, every 7-8 minutes) the problem is durability loss… after ~3 hours or so my item with the lowest durability is completly broken and needs repair
yeah. You can’t really leave it running 24-7, while you are work and hitting the gym/PC cafe after work. This is more of a “I need to hit the shops, might as well farm and get some “free”, easy gold” farming method

it appears to be fixed now. amazing how they can fix this without a patch and taking down the game…
really strange I was actually ingame while it happened ! it changed from one second to the other right in front of the those towers
next spawn simply didnt give any more loot….
Any new spots located since patch? AFK farming was amazing!
